Almost over...

Only 3 more long, wearisome sessions of Driver's Ed left - tomorrow, Thursday, and next Tuesday.

I've learned what all the signs mean...  and I thought this sign was interesting. I was going to put a picture of a stop sign up here to add a splash of color, but I found this and figured it was funnier.

Hopefully this sign is not an indicator of how I'll do on the permit test!

Young Scribes and Joyful Thoughts

These are some notes taken for me by Hannah May, translated as best I could, with capitalization and spelling rendered as written:
"... Been Dirty Going around washing everyone's. Feet is not following His example because it is not true semce (service?) to follow Him, we need to take the place of a servant V: 14 the example of service is of washing feet is not the phyical (physical?) service and message: like a parable bathed..."

* smile *

10 Joyful Thoughts:
  1. Happiness is watching my cousin Lizzie standing up in church "singing" right along with the rest of us from an upside down hymnbook.
  2. Happiness is having someone feel comfortable enough to offer you peanut butter sandwiches and ramen soup as you brew a mug of tea in the microwave.
  3. Happiness is seeing four little girls wearing dresses I used to wear, and knowing how blessed we all are to have Christian homes.
  4. Happiness is playing a sonatina double-fast while wearing gloves.
  5. Happiness is singing "Amazing Grace" with brethren you love.
  6. Happiness is watching a roomful of people try to act zealous.
  7. Happiness is finding an extra pair of black stockings tucked away in a drawer.
  8. Happiness is holding a  newborn baby and laughing at the faces he makes.
  9. Happiness is reading Psalms and realizing that His mercies are new every morning.
  10. Happiness is being able to count my blessings after being a bit down tonight, and realizing just how much I have to be grateful for.

Young People's Gathering

Unfortunately, the wonderful night we had planned was ruined by a great tragedy...

But we bore it bravely.

(And please don't ask what the tragedy was. Nobody knows.)

A Study on Purity

The girls' study was held at the Nelsons' this month, with Mrs. Danielle leading it on the topic of purity.

At the beginning, we were each given a white carnation to represent our purity. In the middle of the table, there was a glass of murky water. This represented our hearts when we allow impure things to come in.

I'm still trying to figure out how to post the audio recordings I took! There are two parts: Pt. 1 was about purity of the heart, and Pt. 2 was about the more... physical aspects. (The younger ones among us were sent downstairs for that part.) Both were wonderful, and I hope I can figure out how to share these recordings with y'all! (Note: I think if you send me a message, I'll be able to send it via email. I just don't know how to embed them into this format.)
