Textbooks = 150lbs or so.

SO EXCITED! I just bought my textbooks and I can hardly wait to start classes tomorrow! We're not supposed to open the shrinkwrap until our professors confirm that we will be using the books, or otherwise I would definitely be getting a head start! At 1:45 I have to reserve my chapel seat, at 2pm I have a adviser appointment with Mrs. Barlar, and at 3pm I'll go to Puckett for the on-campus job meeting. Oh, and I finished my Liberal Arts Essay. It took about two hours, complete with research, but I really enjoyed writing it. Sometime today I want to go use one of the music practice rooms and have a good long time spent playing! I need to brush up on my theory too.... although that reminds me...  I passed both of those placement tests and am now officially enrolled in Music Theory 1 and Aural Theory 1. Folks say that theory is one of the hardest classes on campus.... I don't know about that, but we shall see. I'm determined to conquer it as best I can!

It feels so good to be rested again. I slept until 8:45 this morning and it was sooooo nice. I'm glad Orientation is over. Last night some of us Suttonites had a midnight tea party. Bringing a kettle was a good idea, I guess! It was really fun, although we all started getting a little crazy due to such little sleep!

  1. Your poor hands must be itching to play a piano. I hope you were able to play for a while.

    And I keep thinking about your last post where you talk about running headlong over a hill and all I can think of is you trying to run up the ramp at the City Museum. That must have been a sight for sure!! ; )

  2. Yes, I've been able to practice a bit here and there, plus Sharon and I had a "jam session" yesterday night (she plays flute) and that was really nice. Until then I had definitely been "itching"!

    HA! Yes, I daresay that's what it was like! Right before I dashed out of the music room, Mr. Dickey told me a story about someone next door at USF who got struck by lightning on a perfectly clear day and died! So the whole way I ran home obviously that was running through my head... my descent was, admittedly, punctuated by little shrieks of joy and terror!
